Here is a guide to our Christmas meat selection, to help you fill your hampers with superlative Dorset Meat Company produce:
Grass-fed beef joints+
Our ethically-reared, grass-fed beef is from native-breed cattle, raised in harmony with nature on small family farms across Dorset and Wiltshire.
The beef is dry-aged for at least four weeks, and then expertly prepared for you using the finest traditions of British craft butchery.
The result is our magnificent, traditional cuts of ethically-reared beef, which are certain to take pride of place on any Christmas dinner table, and draw gasps of hungry delight from the assembled.
Take our grass-fed rib of beef on the bone. It is perfect for any special occasion, and no more so than as a Christmas meat centrepiece, with its distinct, intense flavour.
You can also choose our boned and rolled rib of beef, exquisitely prepared by our master butchers to ensure exceptional tenderness.
Our sirloin roast beef (boned and rolled) is a stunning, prestige cut, while for unsurpassed tenderness our lean whole fillet of beef will gorgeously grace any Christmas table.
Now turn your attention to a couple of roast classics when you order Christmas meat: topside and silverside joints.
Lean and dry-aged, our topside beef joints are delicately marbled, while our silverside beef lends itself perfectly to slow cooking. Similarly, our slow-cooked, boned and rolled rib roast is another fine choice.
Our Chateaubriand simply oozes outstanding, gastronomic pedigree, as this most famous of great steak cuts from the thickest part of the fillet.
And for a really lean, grass-fed roasting joint, choose our top rump – which is perfection itself when served rare.
Both are stellar additions to your Dorset Meat Company Christmas meat order.
Poultry and wild game+
What would your Christmas meat order be without poultry or game.
With The Dorset Meat Company, you are guaranteed that your poultry and wild game choices are free-range and high-welfare.
Our Kellybronze free-range whole Turkeys, Turkey Crowns and boneless turkey crown breast will form the centrepice of any Christmas table.
Free-range whole chicken (with giblets) is slow grown and has lived long in the open air, free to explore the fields around a family-run farm in Radstock, near Bath.
Whole, free-range duck comes from Devon’s Creedy Carver Farm, with an emphasis on high welfare and sustainability. Or for a distinctly gamier Christmas meat flavour, choose our marvellous wild Mallard duck.
For highly lean meat with a low-fat content, choose naturally-reared Dorset lowland wild game for your hampers.
Slow-roasted, deep and gamey, a haunch of boneless wild venison is grand statement in your Christmas meat order.
Or for other real festive delicacies, why not add a whole, rich and gamey wild wood pigeon or a whole pheasant? Both are fabulous when roasted with bacon.
Pork and ham joints+
Honey-glazed and cooked hams, and smoked gammon joints are a Christmas favourite you, your family and friends just can’t do without.
And have you ever thought of pork as part of your Christmas feast? Our Saddleback pork from free-range, outdoor-reared meat is a natural and hugely flavoursome choice.
