All of our free-range chicken comes from Castlemead Poultry, Heywood Farm, Radstock, near Bath. Originally started by his grandparents in 1940, Stuart is proud to be the third family generation farming at Heywood.
Castlemead’s chickens are slow-grown and live twice the length of their supermarket counterparts. From early morning till nightfall, they are free to explore the fields surrounding their houses, incorporating natural goodness into their diets to complement the locally grown and milled cereals they are fed.
At night they retire to their houses for protection from the fox and a good night’s sleep.
