Our Farms

At the Dorset Meat Company, we work with 20 small, family-run farms in Dorset and Wiltshire that all work to produce ethically reared, nutritious meat, in a natural growing environment, in harmony with nature. Animals that have been allowed to grow at a natural pace and have not been rushed.

Our cooked Saddleback ham joints are from rare-breed Saddleback and Gloucester Old Spot outdoor reared pigs that have taken longer to mature and carry the essential extra fat that produces really succulent, flavoursome meat.

You will find our free-range, hand-butchered pork will be a deeper pink in colour than the intensively reared alternatives and because our pigs have been raised naturally and hung for longer, the skin provides the most wonderful, crispy crackling. Our pork is sourced from small, local, family-run farms in Dorset and Wiltshire with the highest standards of animal welfare.

We believe strongly that small-scale farming is better for the farmer, the animal, the local ecology, and for you, producing exceptionally tasting, ethically reared meat that you can trust completely.

The Dorset Meat Company

I recently had my first order and I really, really loved it. The meat was amazing, the mince made awesome burgers. I don't think I will be buying my meat anywhere else now. I'm so pleased I tried it. I am in the process of building my next order. The delivery and packaging is very good too.
I ordered the T bone steak and can say that it was one of the best I had.
I also ordered some of the gluten free pies, I have only had the chicken and Tarragon ones but they were really nice. Will definitely order from here again.
All the meat I ordered was incredible. Probably the best lamb you'll ever taste. You've got yourself a regular customer, thank you!
High welfare free range meat. Livestock reared and finished as they should be, on a natural diet which produces high quality meat that is tasty and affordable; not routinely filled with growth promoters and antibiotics and given time to mature naturally. Excellent butchery and service… can’t fault it and most highly recommend.
I sent one of the meat boxes as a gift to a family member. The order and delivery process was quick and simple and the order arrived on time. The meat was top class and the gift was a huge success. I will definitely order more. I would also just like to add that, as it was a gift and the order was going to be delivered directly to the recipient, I emailed to ask that no invoice or price details be in the box. They replied very promptly and did what I asked. Excellent service!
