Zero Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced from Tenuta Marmorelle’s 600 year old olive trees by the Carlucci family on their farm, Tenuta Marmorelle, in Puglia, southern Italy. It is a single estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil using a mixture of olives, Cellina di Nardo, Ogliarola and Lecchino Olives. It’s this mixture of olives that gives it’s green tasting tones and slight peppery aftertaste. The olives trees are lovingly looked after all year round preparing for the harvest in late October early November. The olives are harvested directly from the trees, onto nets to ensure they never touch the ground and then taken to the olive press and cold pressed within 6 hours to ensure the best quality olive oil. The oil is left to rest in steel containers where the sediment fall to the bottom and the oil stays at the top. The oil is not filtered to ensure all the health benefits are retained. Before bottling, the oil is tested for accidity to make sure that it is within the boundaries to be classifed extra virgin.
The oil is called Zero as there are no additives.
