Wood pigeon is a real delicacy and is becoming increasingly popular in British restaurants. A feature of any country butcher’s range, pigeon breasts are really lean thanks to their natural diet of wild berries, acorns and buds.
Rich and gamey, we like ours pan fried in mushrooms and a red wine gravy, served with roasted leeks and a celeriac mash.

We have been looking for responsibly sourced meat for some time and have finally found the" real deal"at The Dorset Meat Company. Fantastic organic produce, delivered to my front door and the quality is outstanding. No shrinkage of chicken breasts after cooking, amazing smoked bacon and the cheeses from the deli section are spectacular. Also recommended us to Goldhill Organics for veg which again has been a revelation. Try it once and you like us will be converted. Great job.
Just had our first delivery from Dorset Meat, and the first thing we've cooked was the Sunday joint of sirloin for the whole family - six adults, two children. Everyone agreed that the beef was without doubt the best we have ever tasted which, bearing in mind the Sunday roast is a tradition with us, is some compliment. As the family "chef", my only problem now is ensuring my cooking matches the quality of the meat.
Just received our sixth meat box: this one containing my first grass-fed cheese The Winslade, which is absolutely delicious and better than any cheese I ever tasted! I love the grass-fed beef - the fillet and minute steaks are favourites. The (amazingly!) gluten-free lamb and rosemary pie is lovely. I have a chicken & tarragon pie in the freezer to try; also my first lamb leg steaks from DMC. Grass-fed has to be better even than organic - for the animals and for us. I appreciate the Omega 6 levels in the lamb and steaks. Also I haven't eaten liver for years but the fact that it is grass-fed means I ordered some lamb's liver this time around. What else can I say? Loving the chicken, duck, chicken and beef bone broths, bacon; everything in fact. Very good service. I do have guilt-pangs about the packaging, but I try to fill the freezer each time I order. Thank you for producing and "curating" some fabulous food!
I recently had my first order and I really, really loved it. The meat was amazing, the mince made awesome burgers. I don't think I will be buying my meat anywhere else now. I'm so pleased I tried it. I am in the process of building my next order. The delivery and packaging is very good too.
I ordered the T bone steak and can say that it was one of the best I had.
I also ordered some of the gluten free pies, I have only had the chicken and Tarragon ones but they were really nice. Will definitely order from here again.
