5 of our favourite restuarants to visit in Dorset
If you are planning a visit to Dorset over the summer, here is a guide to our favourite restaurants in the county where you will enjoy wonderful food.
Brassica Restaurant. 4 The Square • Beaminster • Dorset • DT8 3AS Tel: 01308 538 100 www.brassicarestaurant.co.uk
A relaxed and welcoming restaurant, with beautiful soft interiors, and of course delicious food, fine ingredients, perfectly cooked. We loved the interesting choices on the menu including fish, e nothing over fussy, just concentrating on bringing out all the wonderful flavours.
The Pig on the Beach. Manor Road, Studland, Dorset BH19 3AU Tel: 01929 450288
Located in a perfect spot overlooking the sea and with the beach only a few minutes walk away, this is a beautiful spot for lunch or dinner, and if you want to make a few days of it, you can stay too in one of their exquisitely furnished rooms
The Crab House Cafe. Ferrymans Way, Portland Road, Wyke Regis, Dorset, DT4 9YU Tel: 01305 788967
We went for the first time, on a warm sunny day in April this year, and it was a total dream. Literally a shack, we pretty sea themed decor. We ate sublime oysters, and cracked our way through a whole crab with of course chips. Perfect setting and wonderful seafood.
The King John Inn. Tollard Royal Wiltshire SP5 5PS Tel: 01725 516027
Ok, not strictly in Dorset, but just over the border and every so near to us. It’s a proper pub, so you can just go and have a drink after a long walk. The food is high quality English cooking, using local seasonal ingredients. They have a few rooms too, so you can make a night of it and enjoy their fine wines too.
Storm Fish Restaurant. 16 HIGH STREET, POOLE, BH15 1BP Tel 01202 674970
One of our favourites, this bistro, if we are allowed to call it that serves up fantastic fish. All cooked in the steaming open kitchen, so you can see everything being prepared and are enticed with all the amazing smells coming from the cooking. Serving freshly caught fish all cooked to perfection.
